I extend a warm welcome to each pioneer and advocate in our quest for empowerment and equality. Although according to a joint report by Times Higher Education and UNESCO, Africa stands out with 47% of STEM graduates being women. Despite this, there is an urgent need to address the gender gap in STEM fields and advance equity and inclusion.
This past year, we empowered 40 girls in Agbor, Delta State, and continued our commitment by working with our existing community of 800 girls in the North Central region, fostering STEM interest through workshops and mentorship for sustained impact.
This year, let's implement some do's and don'ts to bridge the gender gap, breakstereotypes, andcreateafuturewhereeverySTEMDamsel's potential is acknowledged and celebrated. Recognizing that wishing for equality isn't enough, we must take concrete actions by doing and undoing certain practices.
Together, let's embark on a transformative journey towardbreaking biases and stereotypes, fostering gender equalityand championing the representation of women and girls in STEM.
Here's to a year of empowerment, progress, and breaking new ground together!
With unwavering determination
